Contractor Bridges use other commercially available softwoods
Both materials will have been treated to extend their life
The biggest factors in deck board life are removal of debris (especially fallen leaves) regularly and keeping the drainage gaps between the boards clear.
Deck Board finishes
Deck Boards are not inherently slippy
It is the materials which can cover the deck boards which make them slippy
Keeping the deck boards free from slip inducing coatings is an important maintenance issue.
Grooving increase traction immensely
Providing anti slip treatments adds further to the sense of security but all of these improvements will be marginalised if the deck becomes iced or snow covered.
